Popcorn

Ashland is mad because we won’t let him have any popcorn!

Sleeeeping

Ashland fell asleep hanging out with his bunny.

Being comfy.

Real Food!

Ashland got real food (if you call rice cereal a real food…) today for the very first time! He likes it. But I gave it to him the first round when he was hungry and he got mad every time I took the spoon out of his mouth. This is the second round, after I fill him up 80% capacity with formula — it worked much better.

His clothes got soaked (not to mention the bib!) so he is getting fresh outfit. He looks stuffed (food coma!), no?

Goof

Ashland loves wearing hats (I should have known that he would since his sister hates them!). When we are outside and he gets tired, he pulls down his hat over his eyes to block out light and muffle noise. When he wants to see, he just rubs his eyes and pull up the edge of the hat.

He has his pacie upside down, and he knows it (he can easily turn it around all by himself…)! He seems to think it’s funny.

Downtown

We are at having coffee at Stumptown Coffee Roasters. You can tell they are very serious about coffee when their menu is trimmed down to the basics (you won’t find Frosty Peppermint Swirls and Eggnog Latte here!). Ashland is serious too, with his toy.

Bunny

Ashland and his favorite bunny.

Today when he rolled over from his back to front, he put so much force in to it that he made TWO complete cycles (back-front-back-front)  in one go. Ashland startled himself by this, but seems to think it was totally fun.

Spoiled

Ashland’s sister spoils him all day. He is burried in toys because Immi keeps bringing him more.

Saturday

Ashland snoozing at Sushi Hana.

Grocery shopping at Trader Joe’s. Looking for cheese now.

Ashland has a new favorite activity — binky tossing. He’ll fling his pacifier as far as he can throw (and he can throw quite far already …maybe about 3 ft? and then sometimes it bounces off further…) and then makes an attempt at finding it. Of course he isn’t all that mobile yet, so I end up having to find it and fetch it. He seems to think its fun :|

Trying

Ashland is trying very hard to crawl.

a&o1

…And just as he was about to give up, Oskar came along and offered Ashland his tail.

a&o2

Oskar: “Here, hold on to my tail!”

a&o3

But it didn’t quite work.

And so Oskar said: “Don’t worry, walking on all 4s is over rated. It’s much nicer just laying around.”

a&o4

Oskar: “Oh Noooo! Not the ear grabbings!”

a&o5

Oskar: “…And there he goes again!”

Futae

At the risk of this post not making much sense unless you are Japanese (…or otherwise some kind of asian!)…

Ashland was born with ‘hitoe’ eyes (this is the only remotely useful explanation I found online…) and few weeks later, his right eye became ‘futae’ …some of the time. Since yesterday, both his eyes are ‘futae’ a lot of the times. Now, this isn’t normally how it happens, as far as I know. But the strange thing is that his sister’s eyes did exactly same thing (about the only thing they have in common it seems, they are so otherwise very different!) until the ‘futae’ thing stayed in both of her eye lids.

Here’s happy Ashland with futae eyes:D
