Ashland and his dad in the flower field at the market on Sauvie Island.
Ashland is petting (!) sunflowers. Check out his sneakers — we finally found ones that are easy to put on and he doesn’t mind wearing (in fact, he LOVES wearing them)!
Here’s Ashland and I.
Ashland has gotten very good at walking but for some reason he’ll just remain standing where I put him (to my convenience!!) when we are outside.
Riding the cart through various vegetable/fruit patches to get to blueberries and blackberries.
Ashland is totally loving blackberries!
Ashland and Immi can’t stop munching!
And then we found a market that has a little barn full of farm animals. Ashland seems excited about piglets and cute little black pony.
We had sonogram appointment for Baby No.3. We came to the office by bus and got here an hour early. Ashland is crawling/walking the hall back and forth while waiting. It’s not something I’d usually encourage, but no one else is in this part of the waiting room, he isn’t in anyone’s way, and I knew that our appointment would take extra long today so…
Ashland must have gotten tired from all that exercising followed by 2 hour appointment and by the time we got to dinner, he was completely passed out!
It looks like Ashland is going to have a little brother!! Hopefully they will be best friends!
Hi! Do you remember this monkey you got for immi when she was little?? Well, now Ashland is enjoying him a whole lot. He loves the tiny ribbons on his head for hair, crinkling his cellophane ears, and chewing on textured paws.

[For those of you who don't know, Auntie Junko moved back to Japan this week. And she will be there for now, but who knows where she'll be going next!!] Anyway, we received the package you sent us full of souvenir from exotic places you just traveled back from, and we are totally enjoying them! (I’m keeping the purse safe for immi until summer when the weather will be much better for it!).
(coffee, tea, cane sugar, frankincense, incense, vanilla beans, saffron…in short, all my favorite things!)

The above photo doesn’t do justice to the huge amount of gorgeous saffron so here’s one out of the plastic. It smells so good, I wish I could share scent in a photo!

We are meeting Auntie Junko at Teaism for lunch because she is leaving for a month long trip around the world (…well, not exactly ‘around’ but too many places for me to remember all the destinations!) this Friday, and while she is away, we’ll be moving. Besides, we couldn’t just leave without saying goodbye to Teaism which has totally become our hangout spot. (Ashland’s sister is busy eating udon noodle.)

Ashland loves to take a nap on his swing.

I handed off Ashland to Auntie Junko every time he got a bit grumpy because I discovered the other day that he really likes being danced with, and she is really good at dancing. See! — he looks sleepy already!

And here’s Ashland playing with his Obaachan.

Ashland and his Ojiichan.

Ashland and his dad. Ashland can stand-up really quite well! I think that he wants to be walking already.

Ashland’s Ojichan and Obaachan (my mom&dad) are visiting from Japan this week! They flew in yesterday. Ashland is waiting for them to come over all dressed up in his tux-onesie fomr mike&mary:)

Here are my boys hanging out.
