Ashland is keeping our coffee safe for us while I put cream in my Americano.
Ashland looks HUGE in his car seat — we have the child seat ready to be installed, we just haven’t had the chance!
Ashland is mad because he is stuck behind the gate while we get ready to go out for a walk. Check out his new sneakers! It’s his first pair of shoes I got for him that’s actually intended for walking (they have soft but grippy soles). I thought he’ll need them since he is almost walking. In fact, he took 7 steps yesterday, but I’m not counting this as *officially walking* since I don’t think that he knows he actually walked unassisted (he was near the edge of the bed, but let his hands off of it to get to his destination in a hurry).
We stopped by Starbucks during our walk. It’s the first time we are having Starbucks coffee since the first day we moved out to Portland! We haven’t missed it exactly (been busy supporting local coffee houses!) but this is one of 2 easily walking distance coffee place so here we are. Ashland is very pleased with the mini donut he just had.
Ashland reached a stage in which he seems to think that everything in the world is for him to grab! Ashland is pulling the straw in and out of the cup.
Having Saturday Coffee at Seven Virtues. He just woke up from his nap and pulling up his hat (which he pulls down over his eyes when he gets sleepy) to get a better look at where he is.

We are at having coffee at Stumptown Coffee Roasters. You can tell they are very serious about coffee when their menu is trimmed down to the basics (you won’t find Frosty Peppermint Swirls and Eggnog Latte here!). Ashland is serious too, with his toy.
We are having our Saturday coffee at Beveland St.Coffee House. Ashland is snoozing away.
On a complete side note…we’ve only had to get Starbuck ONCE in the entire nearly 2 months we’ve been here (…and that was only because we had just moved-in, and went in to use the restroom since we didn’t have any toilet paper yet 
). We are so happy about local coffee shops with tasty coffee (often organic and shade grown) that’s even a bit cheaper too. We enjoy supporting local coffee shops and weekend coffee outings and hope that they won’t all disappear.
We are at Greenberry’s. Todd is meeting up with a friend (they are sitting at a table near by) and Ashland’s sister is at her Grandmom’s. …so Ashland and I are hanging out having coffee time. I’m crocheting and he is trying to walk out of his car seat.
Ashland seems to be going through another growth spurt. He is eating lots (not that he doesn’t always!) and he is more high-maintenance than usual. He is a bit temperamental and wants me to hold him a lot more even when he isn’t hungry. He won for himself a first dose of Gripe Water …I think it helps (it definitely helped with immi) but anyhow, he seem to enjoy drinking it.
