We just finished having lunch at the Market. It’s really nice in the shade but under the direct sunlight, it’s definitely hot! Ashland just said “Happy!” — he really does seem happy from yummy food (he had waffles and sausages) and hanging out with his dad.
Ashland got really hot and grumpy (I don’t blame him!) in the car and being grumpy made him even hotter, so by the time we got home, he was all sweaty! He is cooling off now with a bottle cold rice milk (which he is guzzling down!).
Lately, Ashland’s favorite spot to fall a sleep is right by the mouse while his daddy’s working on something.
We are at the market again this saturday…though it’s a bit hot out. Ashland doesn’t like hot weather much (compared to immi who doesn’t seem to mind it). He is looking a bit grumpy while we are getting some beautiful potatoes. Contrastingly, his sister who loves the market is being a little charmer and scoring for us some free pretty blue potatoes for us to try!
We are at the PSU market and sitting at our usual spot. Ashland is leaning over to see what Immi is doing.
We walked around town for a while and now getting some cheap but yummy conveyor belt sushi. There’s lots of these sushi restaurant all around Portland and it has become our favorite dine-out solution because it’s quite healthy and both Immi and Ashland loves it. Ashland’s favorites are Tamago and Avocado rolls. He is having watermelon now.
We saw our bus leaving as we got to the bus stop and so having to wait 19 minutes for the next one. As it turns out, waiting for a bus in this part of town is completely entertaining for Ashland because there’s live music playing right across the street and lots of people to watch.
Past several days, Ashland has been needier than usual (he doesn’t want me to go out of sight — he is usually fine to be playing with immi in the play room without me) and having trouble falling a sleep at night (he sleeps fine when he does fall a sleep). We figured he’s teething with the top teeth…but as it turns out top four teeth and and 3rd and 4th teeth on the bottom (he has has 2 teeth on the bottom for some time now) are also coming out! That’s SIX teeth that are trying to come out all at once and it looks really painful!
Waiting for the bus to go to the market. Ashland quite enjoys the bus ride, as long as it’s 20 minutes or less. He gets little bit fidgety if it’s much longer than that.
We grabbed a table under the tent at the market to have lunch. Ashland is very happy because there’s blues music playing — for some reason he LOOOOVES blues (when I say blues, I mean Muddy Waters and such like). We’ve noticed this many times and reminds me that I should remember to play more blues for him! I’m not sure what other parents are finding about development of their kids’ musical preferences, but as for Ashland, it seems to have absolutely NOTHING to do with what we tend to listen to everyday or what I was listening to during pregnancy.
Ashland wanted to come out of the stroller and play with the sun came out. We are hanging out at the market listening to music, watching immi dance, hanging out with Lauren&Eden, and having crêpe (ashland got a little piece, he loved it!).
He had a 9 month check-up yesterday. He is growing (I didn’t catch the actual measurement…) and developing very well! He definitely remembers unpleasant experience of getting shots and started grumbling as soon as he got put on the exam table! At 9 months, Ashland is really mobile, crawls really fast, climbs up and down very well, and he can walk and jump quite well if we hold both of his hands. He waves hello back when we do, calls me “mama” and his dad “dada”. I’ve been noticing increasingly, that he prefers to eat food rather than take formula when he is hungry. He doesn’t just eat bagels as this blog may suggest! He absolutely LOVES bananas, though with veggies, he prefers pureed rather than steamed&chopped.
We are at the Farmers Market for the first time this season! Ashland is having [stale] bagel.
Ashland is in food coma
