Megaphone

Ashland figured out how to amplify his voice with a toy megaphone/fake-trumpet. He performs it like he’s playing an instrument looking for different pitches that resonate the horn.

And he also figured out how to eat frozen pop treat. Don’ worry, I didn’t give him whole thing.

Market

Waiting for the bus to go to the market. Ashland quite enjoys the bus ride, as long as it’s 20 minutes or less. He gets little bit fidgety if it’s much longer than that.

We grabbed a table under the tent at the market to have lunch. Ashland is very happy because there’s blues music playing — for some reason he LOOOOVES blues (when I say blues, I mean Muddy Waters and such like). We’ve noticed this many times and reminds me that I should remember to play more blues for him! I’m not sure what other parents are finding about development of their kids’ musical preferences, but as for Ashland, it seems to have absolutely NOTHING to do with what we tend to listen to everyday or what I was listening to during pregnancy.

Music

Here’s Ashland after shower. Shaking his jingles and singing  really loudly. (He can sort of sit on a chair now.)

…And now rocking out on the piano and singing really loudly. He really enjoys banging on this piano.

Ashland has always been a happy baby. Which had meant — months shortly after being born — a very quiet baby because he hardly ever cried. But now, he happily vocalizes VERY loudly. And when he is displeased, he vocalizes very loudly (he doesn’t cry often, only as a last resort).

Playing

Ashland and his sister making music!

…And then playing with legos. Again.

Rockin’

I saw Ashland get really happy when he heard a rock guitar music which was the end credit of a movie we finished watching…and I thought to get this toy out (it was immi’s from her grandmom). And look!, he is a natural, he must have been a rocker in his previous life or something.
