Almost walking, but not yet. …But he’s gotten really good at standing!
He is talking more though. When he sees a diaper, he says “di-di” (We don’t make up baby words, but immi has called diapers di-di and this one stuck around since ‘diaper’ is such an ugly word anyhow. Only one other modified word that gets used is “nu-nu” for noodles.). Also, when he gets sleepy, he rubs his eyes and says “nite nite”, when he is feeling sensible enough to know he is tired. He’s been imitating more words too — when I asked him if he were “all done” with his meal, he said “all done!”.
This morning I woke up to a growling little liger standing at the edge of his crib. I walked over give him good morning kisses. After I gave him three kisses on his head Ashland looked up at me and said -
“DA-DA!”
It is his second word ever! His first was “MA-MA” of course, because he loves his Mama so much. It was the perfect start to my day and Ashland is always such a happy little guy to be around.
We are sitting outside at the cafe across the street. Immi was very happy to just sit quietly and enjoy fresh air, but Ashland wanted us to keep moving…so we shut him up with a teething biscuit (it’s really stiff and takes him really long time to eat it, it’s to help his growing teeth feel better) 
Now everyone is happy.
Ashland now grabs onto anything to stand up!
Ashland spends quite large portion of the day standing like this. He’s gotten quite confident at it, and can let go of one hand or look around. He also just figured out how to crab walk while holding on to the edge of something.
